SXSW 2009 Music Video: Melissa Auf der Maur - Follow the Waves
SXSW 2009 SHOWCASING ARTIST - El Sol y La Luna - Friday, March 20 - 12:00 a.m. Born in Montreal, Melissa Auf der Maur was raised with a fine arts education and a love of music. Between 1994-1999, she was a member of Hole, and her participation as bass player and songwriter culminated in the album "Celebrity Skin" released in 1998. In 2000, she joined the Smashing Pumpkins for their farewell world tour. In 2004, "Auf der Maur", her first solo album, was released by Capitol Records/EMI worldwide. She toured Europe and North America for over a year in support of this album. The album featured guest appearances by esteemed members of Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle and Smashing Pumpkins. She has made numerous guest appearances with other music artists including: Indochine, Ryan Adams, Rufus Wainwright, Ric Ocasek and K-OS.
